I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and finding time to relax, recharge, travel, spend time with family, or simply enjoy the longer days before the busy fall season begins.

Since our spring newsletter, your Board has been busy. We held our first meeting with the newly elected Board in June, welcomed fresh ideas and enthusiasm, and began planning our Fall Virtual Event and next year’s Education Day.

One important fall opportunity is Mission Tomorrow, a Richmond career exploration event taking place October 20–22. Thousands of eighth-grade students from Central Virginia will explore careers through interactive exhibits and conversations with professionals.

VCRA is seeking volunteers to introduce students to court reporting and the many rewarding paths in our field. Whether you have volunteered before or would like to participate for the first time, we would love to have you join us.

Thank you for your continued support of VCRA and for everything you do to uphold and promote our profession. It is an honor to serve as your president, and I look forward to seeing many of you at upcoming events. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer and take time for yourself.
