As we turn the page on the holidays and settle into the winter months, we hope you had time to rest, recharge, and enjoy moments with family, friends, and loved ones. The end of the year often gives us a chance to reflect—on challenges met, milestones reached, and the vital role court reporters and captioners continue to play in ensuring access to justice and communication for all.

As we look ahead, there’s plenty to be excited about. February brings Court Reporting & Captioning Week, a time to celebrate our profession, educate the public about what we do, and recognize the skill, dedication, and professionalism required to preserve the record and provide access through captioning. We encourage you to take part—whether that means sharing your story, mentoring a student, posting on social media, participating in software trainings we are offering, joining one of our many socials, or simply taking pride in the work you do every day.

In March, we’re thrilled to gather for our upcoming MAR Education Day, where members will have the opportunity to earn continuing education, hear from engaging speakers, and connect with colleagues from across the state. Education Day is always a highlight, offering both practical takeaways and a renewed sense of community. We hope you’ll plan to join us.

Winter may be a quieter season in some ways, but for our organization, it’s a time of momentum and purpose. Thank you for being part of this profession and this community. We look forward to celebrating, learning, and moving forward together in the months ahead.
